Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus expressed his optimism of winning the African Player of the Year award, believing that he will be selected as the recipient of the prestigious award in the coming years.
Kudus shared his thoughts during an episode of Ask The Pro on Ajax TV, as he is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained in Ajax’s 2-1 victory over Feyenoord in the Dutch Cup semifinals.
When asked about his chances of winning the award in his career, the former FC Nordsjaelland player stated, “I believe everything is possible in this world so definitely yeah I will be chosen one day.”
Kudus has had an impressive 2022-2023 season for the Dutch champions, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in 26 league games in the Eredivisie.
He also played in both matches for Ghana against Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers before his injury in the game against Feyenoord.
At the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Kudus scored two goals and recorded an assist in three games.
