German-born Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah has revealed that Hannover 96 turned him away earlier on his career.
The 25-year-old versatile guardsman pointed out that his dream was to wear the jersey of “Die Roten” when growing up but they rejected him which made him to look elsewhere.
“My entire environment actually consisted of 96 fans, that was the team I wanted to play for when growing up.” Gyamerah told sportsbuz
“I was never offered the chance to play for Hannover that made me look for a different club.”
Gyamerah who now features for Hamburg previously played for Arminia Bielefield and VFL Bochum.
He has made 17 Bundesliga 2 appearances for Hamburg so far this campaign as they sit 2nd on the league log.
