Former Aston Villa Player and Ghanaian international, Odartey Lamptey says playing for Kumasi Asante Kotoko was only a way of paying them back.
As a show appreciation, the ex-Anderlecht player said he only donned the Red Jersey of the Porcupine Family just to thank the big guys (Kotoko Fans) in Kumasi for what they did for him when he began his carrier.
“Kumasi also was like a payback time because a lot of people help me in Kumasi at the beginning a lot of people help me all these big guys were kotoko fans” Odartey Lamptey said in an interview on Joy News.
Quizzed if he the time in Kumasi was memorable by the interviewer he replied “yes I have no regret at all i won three trophies for them presidents, Otumfour cup and league cup that year”.
Odartey Lamptey signed for Kotoko for the 2005/2006 season and played under late coach E K Afranie.
Unfortunately, Odartey Lamptey who was compared to Pele is mostly remembered these days for a DNA test that showed three kids he assumed were his biological kids were not his kids.
