Promising Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi is delighted with his progress at Danish club FC Nordsjaelland.
The Right to Dream Academy product has seen a magnificent rise from the U19 team to the senior side of FC Nordsjaelland, where he has become a pivotal member of the squad.
Yirenkyi was named Man of the Match in the defeat to FC Copenhagen over the weekend and has also been nominated for the Young Player of the Month award in the Superliga.
“I do the same thing I always have, and I train the same way. So in that way, nothing has changed. I just do my best, and now I have the chance,” he said.
“I like playing in the Superliga. The coaches tell me what to do, and then I try to do it. I’m not afraid to take a chance with a pass, because that’s part of our style of play, and if we lose the ball, you can always try to win it back,” he added.
In ten games in the first team, Yirenkyi has scored a goal for the Wild Tigers.
“I’ve never scored many goals, so of course I was happy, but it wasn’t that big of a deal for me. The most important thing was that we won the game,” he concluded.
