Ashantigold SC captain Shafiu Mumuni has denied reports that he failed to impress during his trials with Romanian giants
CFR Cluj.
The Black Stars ‘B’ striker flew to the European country in a bid to sign a deal with the club and was in the stands to watch the team’s Europa League game against Sevilla.
However, according to reports, the 24-year-old failed his trials but he has come out to refute such claims insisting everything went well but the FA suspended the league in the week because of the coronavirus pandemic hence delaying the deal.
“It is true I went to Romania to have stints with CFR Cluj together with some players from Argentina and Paraguay. Everything went on smooth but the FA suspended the league in the week I had to complete the paper works because of the Coronavirus pandemic,” he told Kumasi FM 104.1 MHZ.
“The club president called yesterday and assured he will invite me to complete the paper works whenever the league resumes. I still have a contract with Ashgold hence my decision to continue with them when the league resumes.”
