Hearts of Oak forward Asamoah Boateng Afriyie has pointed to the lack of telepathy among players as a key reason behind the club’s underwhelming start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Despite managing only one win from their opening four matches, Afriyie remains optimistic about the team’s progress, emphasizing that they are gradually building the necessary chemistry on the pitch.
“We’re now gelling as a team… We’re all keen about the team’s success, not personal glory,” Afriyie said following Hearts of Oak’s goalless draw against Nations FC.
Although Afriyie has featured in all four matches this season without scoring, he is not concerned about his goal drought. “I’m playing a different role. I’m not worried about the goal drought,” the former Nations FC striker reassured fans.
Hearts of Oak will face another struggling side, Aduana Stars, in their next fixture. With both teams still searching for form, the match promises to be an exciting encounter as they look to turn their seasons around.
