Heart of Lions veteran defender Atta Kusi has emphasized the crucial nature of their upcoming Ghana Premier League encounter against Bibiani Goldstars, describing it as a must-win fixture.
Set to take place at the Kpando Stadium on Sunday for matchday 23 of the domestic top-flight, Lions aim to reverse their fortunes after suffering two consecutive defeats under coach Bashir Hayford’s leadership.
Addressing the importance of the impending match, the former Asante Kotoko defender stressed the urgency of securing a victory, particularly given their current position in the league standings.
“It’s a must-win game because we are not well placed on the Ghana Premier League table. We can’t afford to lose on home turf. We have to win the game at all cost. We will correct our mistakes and ensure we get maximum points” he said.
With Lions currently positioned in the relegation zone, sitting at 17th place with 21 points, Kusi acknowledged the team’s need to elevate their performance to avoid relegation by the end of the season.
Renowned for his extensive experience in the Ghana Premier League, having featured for clubs like Asante Kotoko, King Faisal, and Ashantigold, Kusi’s leadership and expertise will be vital in guiding Lions towards a crucial victory in their quest for survival.
