Medeama SC head coach Samuel Boadu has revealed the strategy he and his team put place in order to secure the club’s first ever Ghana Premier League title this season.
The Yellow and Mauves were just a point behind league leaders Aduana Stars on the league standings before the competition was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite boasting of two FA Cup honors – won in 2013 and 2015 – the Ghana Premier League has been a difficult trophy for Medeama and for Samuel Boadu the key strategy to break that jinx was to go unbeaten at Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak and Ashantigold.
“Should the green-light be given for the resumption of the league we (Medeama) are ready to go all out for the title. We had targeted to pick at least five points from our next 3 crucial away games at Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak and Ashantigold. This is the analysis we did if we really could win the league ” he said on Wontumi Radio.
The team of Samuel Boadu picked all three points on the road against Legon Cities, Inter Allies and Ebusua Dwarfs but were beaten at Dormaa in a Top-4 clash against Aduana Stars.
Meanwhile the future of the current campaign in still unknown as the Ghana FA still awaits government’s directives whether football competitions in the country can resume or otherwise.
