The Ghana Premier League entered into match day 22 as teams clashed in a midweek action at eight designated league centers across the country.
The WAFA lads maintained their steady progress whiles the Porcupine Warriors slumped to their first defeat under Steve Polack.
Malik Jabir Park, Wa
At the Malik Jabir Park, Wa All Stars returned to winning ways by turning up the gears on second placed Aduana Stars. The home side responded quickly after parting ways with their head coach Enos Adepah, after a run of unimpressive results.
David Abagna opened the scoring from the spot kick on the 15th minute before Nasiru Moro and Paul Asare follow suit with the other two goals. Abdul Rahman Fatau scored the consolation goal for the travelers.
Cape Coast Stadium
Elsewhere at the Cape Coast Stadium, Ebusua Dwarfs welcomed relegation threatened Great Olympics.
After beating Wa All Stars on Sunday, the visitors solidly held Dwarfs to a goalless draw – their fifth away draw in the league so far.
Tamale Utrecht Park, Tamale
Obuasi Ashanti Gold continued with their fine form since the resumption of the second round of the league, with a convincing 0-2 away win over Bolga All Stars.
Two first goals from Daniel Gozar in the 33rd and 38th minute was enough for the visitors to put more misery on the home side and further dashed their hopes of surviving the relegation battle.
El-Wak Stadium
Asante Kotoko tasted their first ever defeat under the tutelage of English trainer Steve Polack in all competition since taking charge in May.
A 36th minute goal from Abdul Halik Hudu gave Inter Allies a cushion in the first half. They held onto the fort to be the first club to defeat the Porcupine Warriors, after seven league games.
However, both teams were reduced to 10 men in the first half, after Evans Quao and Isaac Osae were sent off for an unsporting behaviour.
Accra Sports Stadium
The Phobians revoked their spirit over Berekum-based Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium, as they picked all the three points.
Captain Thomas Abbey scored a brace in each half of the game to put smiles back on their supporters following two straight defeats. Their morale is however boosted ahead of their super clash against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
Carl Reindolf Park, Dansoman
After going six games without a defeat in the league, Liberty has thus suffered two successive defeats against Aduana Stars and Elmina Sharks respectively.
Sharks picked their first ever away win in the premier league with a 14th minute strike from Mohammed Farouk, which was enough to hand them all the three points.
WAFA Sports Stadium, Sogakope
League leaders West African Football Academy (WAFA) continued with their impressive run of form by posting a 2-0 win over Bechem United.
Komlan Agbeniadan, who has been linked with a move to Morocco gave the home side the lead in the 33rd minute before Richmond Danso made it 2-0 on the 59th minute. With a game in hand and Aduana Stars slumping to a defeat against Wa All Stars, the Sogakope-based club are on course to lift their first ever league trophy and subsequently write their names in the annuls of football history.
TNA Park, Tarkwa
Medeama SC piped Tema Youth at the Tarkwa TNA in their midweek clash on Wednesday.
Agyenim Boateng gave the home side the lead on the 16th minute, as they bounced back from the humiliating defeat against Kotoko over the weekend.
