Racing Strasbourg will open their 2021/22 league encounter with a game against Angers at home on Sunday.
Having escaped relegation last season, Strasbourg is hoping to start the season on a high after a good pre-season.
The club’s central defender, Alexander Djiku has been speaking to the press ahead of Sunday’s game, where he has highlighted the challenge the away team poses.
He said: Angers, it’s a rough team that makes few mistakes. They have a solid and experienced central hinge with Thomas and Traoré. The coach does not want us to play the match before and that we remain calm .”
The Black Stars defender also stressed the need for him to maintain consistency throughout the season to help his side better last season’s league finish.
“I want to be as consistent as possible. I want to perform well throughout the season by helping the team to be as strong as possible,” he added.
