As Ghana gears up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the aim of securing a historic fifth title, the squad numbers have been officially revealed, setting the stage for the upcoming tournament.
Goalkeeper Richard Ofori will sport jersey number 1, while Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey claims number 22. The promising talent Ernest Nuamah secures number 24, and the striking duo from Medeama, Jonathan Sowah and Fatawu Hamidu, don numbers 27 and 17 respectively.
Currently immersed in intense preparations, the Ghanaian national team is conducting rigorous training sessions in Kumasi as they set their sights on AFCON glory. The Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, the home ground of Ghana Premier League side Nations FC, serves as the training venue for the Black Stars.
In their pursuit of refining skills and strategies, the Black Stars are scheduled to participate in a pre-AFCON friendly game against Namibia on January 8th.
