Ghanaian youngster Kingsley Gyamfi has joined Finnish Veikkausliiga side Ekenäs IF on a season-long loan deal from Hammarby IF.
The promising centre-back has joined the Ekenäs Sparbank Arena campaigners to continue his development and gain experience in the elite division for the 2024-25 football campaign.
According to the official statement, Gyamfi has already arrived at the club and will begin training with the team on Monday. The 20-year-old defender had previously played for Hammarby’s P19 team after joining the Swedish club in 2022.
Before that, he played for his hometown club in Ghana and MSK Zilina Africa, where he was scouted by Hammarby.
In January 2024, Gyamfi signed a new five-year contract with Hammarby and was promoted to the A team, playing in four matches in the ongoing Swedish Allsvenskan campaign. Prior to his loan move, he featured in four league games for Hammarby IF.
Gyamfi has yet to be capped by Ghana’s men’s senior national team for international duties. The loan deal will give him the opportunity to gain valuable experience and improve his skills ahead of future international commitments.
