Prolific Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey has been ranked as the second-best striker in the recently concluded Bulgarian League campaign.
Tekpetey had an outstanding season with Ludogorets, significantly contributing to their league title and domestic cup victories.
The former Schalke striker scored 10 goals in 30 league appearances and was ranked behind Krumovgrad striker Alexander Kolev, who scored 15 goals in 33 games, on the “Heroes of the Circle” show.
In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, Tekpetey provided five assists for his team. Out of the 30 games he played, he started 27 and came off the bench on three occasions. The Ghana international striker was closely followed by his teammate Ruan Kroos, who remained just one goal behind the winner, Alexander Kolev. The Top 5 strikers list is completed by Atanas Iliev and Marin Petkov.
Despite his impressive performances and recognition in the Team of the Season, Tekpetey missed out on the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Mali and the Central African Republic due to injury.
Ghana aims for positive results in the upcoming games following a mixed start to the qualifiers, having secured a win and a defeat against Madagascar and Comoros respectively.
