Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has completed a season-long loan move to Turkish second-tier side Amedspor from Serie B outfit US Cremonese.
The 21-year-old, once tipped as one of Ghana’s brightest attacking stars, makes the switch in search of regular game time and a chance to reignite his career.
Afena-Gyan burst onto the scene at AS Roma under José Mourinho, famously scoring a match-winning brace against Genoa in Serie A. His exploits earned him a transfer to Cremonese in 2022, but injuries and limited opportunities stalled his progress in Italy.
Last season, he was loaned out to Juventus Next Gen, where he gained valuable experience in Serie C but struggled to consistently deliver the cutting edge that defined his early rise.
At Amedspor, who compete in the TFF First League, the Black Stars striker will be expected to inject pace and attacking threat into their frontline as the club targets promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.
For Afena-Gyan, the loan move represents more than just a change of scenery — it is a pivotal opportunity to recapture the form that once earned him a spot in Ghana’s national team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
