Ghanaian players Abroad Wrap: Jo Ayew, Yartey & Ache Dominate Headlines As Leicester Loanee Kamal Powers Brace In Belgium

Leicester City loanee Kamal Sowah was on a brace in Belgium for Leuven as Jordan Ayew stabbed Manchester United in the hearts at the Old Trafford.

Ishmael Yartey continued his fine form with his FOUR goal in 5 games in Finland plus Eric Ocansey and Jonah Osabutey score in Belgium.

Aaron Opoku, Kelvin Owusu Boateng, Robin Quaison, Kwesi Appiah, Jordi Osei-Tutu, John Yeboah Zamora, Osman Bukari, Kwadwo Poku, Ropapa Mensah, Ragnar Ache and Sadiq Ibrahim all scored for their clubs over the club.

ENGLAND

Norway international of Ghanaian descent Alexander Tettey warmed the Norwich City bench when they lost 3-2 to Chelsea at the Carrow Road. English international of Ghanaian descent Callum Hudson-Odoi missed the game with an Achilles Tendon Injury.

Winger Christian Atsu announced his return from injury with a brilliant assist for Newcastle United as they shocked Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the White Hart Lane.

Meanwhile Kevin Danso enjoyed a dream Premier League debut at the Amex Stadium he played full throttle for Southampton who beat Brighton 2-0. Danso has committed his international future to Austria.

Jordan Ayew scored the opening goal for Crystal Palace through a Jeffrey Schlupp assist as they stunned Manchester United 2-1 at the Old Trafford. Schlupp played the entire game while Ayew was replaced by Christian Benteke midway through the second-half.

There was no Daniel Amartey in the Leicester City side that claimed a 2-1 away win over Sheffield United.

England international of Ghanaian descent Danny Nii Tackie Welbeck came off the bench to play for winless Watford as West Ham United hammered them 3-1.

In the English Championship, Albert Adomah came off the bench to help Nottingham Forest to beat Fulham 2-1 at the Craven Cottage. Belgian-born Ghanaian Denis Odoi missed the game for Fulham with injury.

Black Stars right-back Andy Kyere Yiadom was in fine form for Reading who beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 at their own backyard. Collin Quaner was left out of the Huddersfield Town matchday squad.

Antoine Semenyo came off the Bristol City bench to play in their 3-1 away win over Hull City.

Arsenal loanee Edward Nketiah came off the bench to play for Leeds United in their emphatic 3-0 away win over Stoke City.

Meanwhile in the League One, Abumere Ogogo helped Bristol Rovers to a 3-1 win over Oxford United. Ghanaian attacker Tariqe Fosuwas also in action for 90 minutes for the losers. Burnley loanee Daniel Agyei was left out of their squad for the game.

Sunderland claimed a 3-1 home win over visiting AFC Wimbledon and Ghana’s Kwesi Appiah scored the consolation goal for the losers and he was paired upfront with Watford’s Michael Folivi who is also a Ghanaian.

Elsewhere in the League One, Ghanaian James Alabi came off the bench to play for Leyton Orient in their 3-2 home defeat to Crawley.

In the National League, Ghanaian Kevin Lokko captained Dover to a 2-1 win over Sutton.

Dutch-born Ghanaian Immanuel Duku came off the bench to play for Torquay in their 2-0 home win over Aldershot.

In the Premier League 2, Arsenal U23 and Everton U23 shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. English-born Ghanaian Bukayo Saka was in action for Arsenal but he was substituted on the 64th minute mark.

Chelsea U23 managed to hold Manchester City U23 to a 2-2 draw in Manchester. English-born Ghanaian lateral defender Tariq Lampteyimpressed for Chelsea U23 while Jeremie Frimpong played 90 minutes for Manchester City U23 meanwhile Yeboah Amankwah warmed the bench for the hosts.

Goalkeeper Joseph Anang manned the post for West Ham United U23 when they dismissed Reading U23 3-0 in London.

In the U1 Premier League, Ghanaian Dennis Gyamfi was in action for Leicester City U18 in their 2-0 away away loss to Brighton. Johnson Gyamfi didn’t make the Foxes squad for the game.

Terry Ablade came off the bench to assist the second goal for Fulham U18 in their convincing 2-0 home win over Reading U18 at the Motspur Park in Surrey. Ghanaian Lynford Sackey was introduced in the second-half by Reading U18.

Meanwhile Keenan Appiah-Forson helped West Ham United U18 at the Little Heath Sports Ground to hold Arsenal U18 to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Enoch Asante was handed a starting berth to lead the attacking lines for Tottenham Hotspur when they disgraced Norwich City U18 4-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Academy Spurs Lodge.

Paul Appiah played at the back for Aston Villa U18 in their 3-3 draw with Swansea City U18 at the Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.

Elsewhere at the Rockliffe Park, Ghanaian Kwaku Oduroh didn’t make the Manchester City U18 squad for their 3-1 away win over Middlesbrough U18.

Wolves U18 and Liverpool U18 shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw and Ghanaian Jed Abbey played for Wolves and was booked on the 45th minute mark while Jarell Quansah was also in action and picked a booking in the 43rd minute.

GERMANY

Over 44,000 fans were on attendance at the Merkur Spiel-Arena when Bayer Leverkusen silenced Fortuna Dusseldorf 3-1. Ghanaian defender Kasim Nuhu warmed the bench for the losers but Bernard Tekpetey came off the bench to play for the losers while Kelvin Oforifailed to make the match-day squad while Nana Opoku Ampomah missed the game with injury.

Wales international of Ghanaian descent Ethan Ampadu was not in the RB Leipzig team when they won 2-1 against Frankfurt on Sunday.

Swedish international of Ghanaian descent Robin Quaison scored an 18th minute opener for Mainz 05 but they surrendered the lead to lose 3-1 to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Christopher Antwi-Antwi was in action for 90 minutes for Paderborn when they lost 3-1 to visiting Freiburg on Saturday. His Ghanaian compatriot Philimon Tawiah missed the game for Paderborn due to injury.

Bayern Munich trimmed Schalke 04’s title hopes by beating them 3-0. Ghanaian Okyere Kwasi Wriedt was axed from the Bayern team but Canadian passport holder of Ghana-born Alphonso Davies warmed the bench for Bayern.

In the Bundesliga II, Jordi Osei-Tutu came off the bench to score one of the goals for Bochum in their 3-3 draw with Wehen SV. Maxwell Gyamfi warmed the bench while Daniel Kyereh was left out of the Wehen squad for the game.

Hans Sarpei Nunoo played in holding midfield for Greuther Furth in their 1-1 draw with Hannover 96.

Former Hamburg SV youth team defender Patric Pfeiffer warmed the Darmstadt bench in their 0-0 home draw with Dynamo Dresden.

Agyemang Diawusie was in action for Ingolstadt who drew 2-2 with Hansa Rostock and Ghanaian youngster Aaron Opoku , who is on loan from Hamburg SV, scored one of the goals for Rostock.

Okyere Kwasi Wriedt played in a striking role for Bayern Munich II in their 2-2 draw with Chemnitzer.

Steffan Nkansah was in action for Eintracht Brauschweig in their 5-2 win over Wurzburger Kickers. Ghanaian midfielder Leroy Kwadwowarmed the bench for the losers.

Manfred Osei Kwadwo warmed the bench for Magdeburg in their 5-1 win over Munich 1860.

In the Regionalliga North, Ghanaian John Yeboah Zamora scored for Wolfsburg II in their 4-0 comprehensive win over Norderstedt.

SPAIN

Ghanaian defender Mohammed Karim Salisu was calm and collected in central defence for Real Valladolid when they held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Deportivo Alaves were held to a 0-0 draw by Espanyol and Ghana midfielder Wakaso Mubarak played for the home side.

Lumor Agbenyenu and Iddrisu Baba Mohammed both played for Real Mallorca when they lost 1-0 to visiting Real Sociedad.

Midfielder Thomas Partey played 70 minutes for Atletico de Madrid in their 1-0 away win over Leganes.

Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo marked his La Liga debut with a commanding performance for Celta de Vigo when they claimed a 1-0 win over Valencia.

Inaki Dannis Williams was in action for 90 minutes for Athletic Club who held in-form Getafe to a 1-1 draw before 10,000 home fans.

Former Getafe striker Samuel Obeng played in attack for Real Oviedo in their 1-1 draw with Lugo in the Segunda Division on Saturday.

Richard Boateng featured for Alcorcon when they suffered a 2-1 home loss to Elche.

ALBANIA

Younger brother of Caleb Ekuban – Joseph Ekuban, was left out of the Partizani Tirana squad when they suffered a 1-0 loss at Kukësi in the top-flight.

AUSTRIA

Red Bull Salzburg won 5-0 against Admira. Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru came off the bench to play for the winners while Seth Paintsil warmed the bench and was unused.

Sturm Graz beat Tirol 2-0 and Ghanaian Felix Adjei was unused as he warmed the bench for the entire period of the game.

Former Ghana U20 captain Isshaku Konda lasted 71 minutes for FC Juniors in their massive 8-5 win over Austria Lustenau in the second-tier league on Friday.

Attacker Samuel Tetteh came off the bench to play for LASK Linz in their 2-1 away win over Rapid Vienna at the Allianz Stadion.

Defender Kennedy Boateng played in central defence for Ried in their 2-1 home defeat to Grazer.

Dornbirn dismissed Kapfenberg 6-1 on Saturday in the second-tier league and Ghanaian duo of Paul Mensah and Samuel Oppong both started the game for the losers.

Youngster Winfred Amoah was in action for Sturm Graz’s Amateur side when they held Wels to a 0-0 draw in the Amateur League.

BELGIUM

Nasiru Mohammed was a bench warmer for Levski Sofia in their 1-0 win over Lok. Plovdiv.

DENMARK

American passport holder of Ghanaian descent Emmanuel Sabbi was booked on 71 minutes and lasted until the 82nd minute for Hobro who were held to a 0-0 draw by visiting Odense BK.

Injured Emmanuel Oti warmed the bench for Esbjerg in their 2-2 draw with Silkeborg.

Danish-born Ghanaian Danny Amankwaah warmed the bench for Sonderjyske in their 2-0 loss to Midtjylland.

Sadiq Ibrahim scored the consolation goal for Nordsjaelland in their 3-1 loss to FC Copenhagen in the Superliga. Ghanaian quartet of Francis Abu,Abdul Mumin, Kudus Mohammed and Isaac Atanga all played for the losers.

David Addy and Baba Mensah helped Ilves to draw 2-2 at HIFK in the Veikkausliiga.

Samba Sillah played in midfield for VPS who were beaten 5-0 by KuPS.

19-year-old defender Nasiru Banahene played 5 minutes for Honka in their 1-0 loss to HJK Helsinki. Ghanaian Evans Mensah was also in action for the winners.

Ishmael Yartey scored a stunner for KPV Kokkola when they lost 2-1 against Inter Turku in the Finnish top-flight league on Monday.

In the Ykkonen, former Right to Dream Academy graduate Thomas Agyiri was booked on the 33rd minute and he lasted the entire period of the game for KTP when they lost 5-0 to Haka.

Derrick Mensah was sent off while in action for AC Kajaani who beat AC Oulu 3-1. Former Liberty Professionals player Brite Andoh came off the bench to play for the winners.

Nantes surprised themselves with a 2-1 away win over Amiens. French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah warmed the bench for the winners.

Defender John Boye lasted the entire 90 minutes for Metz in their 3-0 away loss to Angers.

Attacker Grejohn Kyei didn’t make the Stade de Reims squad for their 1-0 loss at Brest on Saturday.

The impressive Enock Kwateng flourished in defence for Bordeaux in their 2-0 away win over Dijon.

Meanwhile 19-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed, formerly of JMG Abidjan, warmed the bench for Clermont Foot in their 1-1 draw with Auxerre.

Le Havre posted a 3-1 win over Grenoble and Ghanaian attacker Ebenezer Assifuah warmed the bench for the winners.

Ragnar Ache scored for Sparta Rotterdam in their 2-2 draw with PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie on Sunday.
