RSC Anderlecht has announced that Ghanaian international midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has signed a contract extension until 2027, cementing his status as a key player for the Belgian Pro League side.
The 25-year-old Ashimeru has been an integral part of Anderlecht’s team since his arrival from Red Bull Salzburg in 2021, surpassing 100 games for the club.
Despite facing injuries last season, Ashimeru has shown his dedication and focus during pre-season, earning the trust of the club’s management.
Anderlecht CEO Jesper Fredberg praised Ashimeru’s unique profile as a dynamic, fast, and forward-thinking midfielder, which aligns with the team’s style of play. The CEO emphasized the importance of nurturing and retaining talented players like Ashimeru, rather than constantly looking externally.
Ashimeru expressed his gratitude to the club and fans for their support, stating his desire to give back and make them proud. He highlighted his growth as a player and person during his time at RSCA and his eagerness to continue contributing to the team’s success.
