Ghanaian midfielder Godwin Agbevor has earned a promotion to the first team of Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC, marking a major step forward in his European football journey.
Agbevor joined the Austrian outfit in 2024 on a three-year contract from Ghanaian club West African Football Academy (WAFA). Initially assigned to Wolfsberger AC II, he spent the season acclimating to life in Austria while continuing his development with the club’s junior side.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder made seven appearances in the 2024/25 Austrian Regional League (Central), scoring two goals and consistently impressing with his vision and technical skill.
His performances did not go unnoticed by the senior team’s coaching staff, who have now rewarded his progress with a promotion to the first team squad.
Agbevor is set to link up with Wolfsberger AC’s senior side when pre-season begins on Monday, June 23, as preparations begin for the 2025/26 campaign.
The Ghanaian talent will now aim to make a strong impression during pre-season and earn a regular spot in the first-team setup as he continues his rise in European football.
