Ghanaian international Terry Ablade made a return from injury on Friday as he featured for Fulham FC Under-23s who returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, with a comfortable 4-1 win over George Boateng’s Aston Villa.
Ablade, who had returned from a long-term injury, had an opportunity seconds after the kick-off. Carvalho found the attacker with a looping cross, but his sliding effort was collected by goalkeeper Akos Onodi.
Aston Villa took the lead after a quarter of an hour. An inch-perfect through-ball from Jaden Philogene-Bidace found Louie Barry, who poked the ball past Luca Ashby-Hammond and into the far corner.
The hosts responded well, with Sylvester Jasper blasting an effort from range into the side netting.
The away side should have doubled their lead 10 minutes before the break. Barry’s initial effort was saved and the follow-up from Charlie Farr was heroically blocked off the line by a fully stretched Idris Odutayo.
Fulham found got the leveler in the 43rd minute, and it came in some style. Jasper lined up a shot from distance, which flew into the top corner. The ’keeper was left with absolutely no chance.
Unbelievably, just minutes later, the young Whites went ahead. This time it was Carvalho, who tapped the ball into an open net after Ablade’s initial strike was denied.
