Ghanaian forward, Daniel Kofi Kyereh netted his first goal of the 2021-22 Bundesliga 2 campaign on the opening day for FC St. Pauli on Sunday afternoon.
The 25-year-old striker played 86 minutes of the match for the Red and Whites outfit as they brushed aside Holstein Kiel at home to go second on the league table.
Leart Paqarada got the opening goal of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up early in the game after just 11 minutes with a beautiful strike.
The first period of the match ended with Kyereh’s team taking a 1-0 advantage into the break.
Two minutes after the hour mark, Finn Berker found the Ghanaian on the right side of the box with a pinpoint pass before Kyereh found the top right corner to make it 2-0.
He thought he had scored again in the 84th-minute mark but only for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to cut his joy short by disallowing him his second goal of the match.
Former FC Schalke 04 striker, Guido Burgstallar added the third goal to make it 3-0 at the end of the entertaining encounter.
