Ghanaian forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh was the star of the night on Tuesday as he netted a brace to inspire FC Aarauto a commanding 3-0 win over Stade Lausanne in the Swiss Challenge League.
The former Hearts of Oak talisman was clinical in front of goal, taking his season tally to four goals in just five matches. His sharp attacking instincts and composure in the final third proved decisive as Aarau dismantled their opponents with ease.
Barnieh opened the scoring early, showing great awareness to pounce on a defensive lapse, before adding a second with a cool finish that underlined his growing confidence in the Swiss league. Aarau sealed the result with a third goal to complete an emphatic performance at home.
The Ghana international’s fine form has quickly made him one of the standout performers in the division. With 4 goals in 5 appearances, Barnieh is beginning to establish himself as a key figure for Aarau as they chase promotion ambitions this season.
Barnieh, who captained Ghana’s Black Satellites to victory at the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, continues to build on his reputation as one of the country’s most promising forwards.
