Ghanaian stars Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo have earned deserved spots in the Premier League Team of the Week for Matchday 1 after delivering standout performances for Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth, respectively.
Kudus, who joined Tottenham this summer, was instrumental in their 3-0 victory over Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder lit up the match with his creativity, registering two assists, and dictating play in the final third with his vision and precision. His debut performance quickly won over Spurs fans, who now see him as a key figure in their push for silverware this season.
Semenyo, on the other hand, stole the headlines at Anfield despite Bournemouth’s 4-2 defeat to Liverpool. The 25-year-old forward scored twice, including a breathtaking solo goal that saw him run over 52 metres past Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté before firing home. His second strike made him the first visiting player since 2022 to score twice at Anfield in a league game, underlining his growing reputation as one of the most dangerous attackers in transition play.
The two Black Stars players were named alongside top performers like Arsenal’s William Saliba, Manchester City’s Rico Lewis, and Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike, further showcasing their impact in England’s top flight.

With Kudus dazzling in North London and Semenyo terrorising defences on Merseyside, Ghanaian fans have every reason to be optimistic about their national team’s attacking firepower heading into future international fixtures.
