Ghanaian international defenders, Harrison Afful and Jonathan Mensah sparkled in Major League Soccer leaders Columbus Crew SC’s win over FC Cincinnati on Sunday.
The two former constant Black Stars defenders showed their worth once again in the MLS for their team as they walloped their opponent by 3-0 scoreline.
After a boring first half which failed to produce a goal, Pedro Santos broke the deadlock seven minutes into the second half of the match as the host’s pressure paid off in the early stages of the second 45 minutes.
Ghanaian-born American striker, Zardes Gyasi came from the bench to score a brace for the Yellow and Blacks to record a comprehensive 3-0 victory at home over a struggling Cincinnati side.
The duo have always been present in Columbus Crew’s games all season as they continue with their campaign with an excellent and eye-catching display.
The Yellow and Blacks remain top of the league table with 23 points from a possible 30 after seven wins, two draws and a defeat in 10 games.
