Ghanaian center-back Rockson Yeboah has officially signed with Swedish Allsvenskan club IFK Göteborg, marking a new chapter in his career after an unsuccessful loan spell with Greek side AEK Athens last season.
The 20-year-old defender, a product of Young African Promises FC, has agreed to a multi-year contract with the Swedish elite division side. While the exact duration of the contract has not been disclosed, the club confirmed the signing with a statement: “Rockson Yeboah is done. Our new center-back is from Ghana, 20 years old, and has signed a multi-year contract with IFK Göteborg.”
Standing at 190 centimeters tall, Yeboah brings both size and speed to the team. After his loan period in Greece, he returned to his home club in Ghana before sealing this move to Sweden.
Expressing his excitement, Yeboah said, “It is a very big opportunity for me to represent such a well-known club as IFK Göteborg. I am very much looking forward to moving to Gothenburg and meeting my new teammates.”
IFK Göteborg manager Ola Larsson shared his confidence in the young defender, stating, “We have followed Rockson for over a year and seen him both in Ghana and Greece. He is a big center-back with great physique and speed. We’ve received positive references, and we believe he will fit in very well at IFK Göteborg.”
The club has already begun the process of securing Yeboah’s work permit with the Swedish Migration Agency, aiming to have him ready for action in the coming weeks. Yeboah has yet to make an appearance for Ghana at any international level.
