Ghana defender, Moro Alhassan has admitted that he never believed in black magic (juju) until he got injured in Italian football.
“The injury started at Carrarese where I had a knee pain without a kick from any player.”
“It was a game against Pizza with two games to end the season.”
“It was one knee and later it affected the other.”
“I returned to my parent club Genoa for several scans on my knee but nothing was found.”
“I later left for home [Ghana] and I am the type who does not believe in anything spiritual.”
“But when I returned to Ghana for treatment was when I realised spirituality existed.” Moro Alhassan told Adamu Muftawu.
The strapping central defender cum defensive midfielder got injured while playing for his last Italian club, Carrarese.
Alhassan first signed for Genoa where he enjoyed more playing time with the U19s before appearing on the bench for the seniors in games against AC and Inter Milan and Juventus.
Genoa sent him on loan to Cesena where he capped a lot of senior games in the second tier.
He helped in qualifying Cesena to the Serie A but eventually returned to Genoa.
He was expected to pick a regular shirt at Genoa but after a successful pre-season, he was going out on yet another loan spell at Vicenza for a season.
That followed with another loan move to Carrarese where the beginning of a temporary end would occur.
With two matches to end the season, Moro Alhassan picked a strange knee injury which prematurely ended his season.
He was accused of feigning injury after several scans revealed no mishap in both knees.
After several challenges with treatment, he was forced to return home to Ghana to find solution to his predicament.
The 26-year-old since returning to Ghana, has not played actively since 2017.
In an interview with Adamu Muftawu, he revealed that he has recovered and is ready for any opportunity that comes his way.
Several clubs are bracing up for his signature when football activities fully returns globally after the Coronavirus pandemic.
