Ghanaian born Canadian footballer Alphoso Davies has been named the best under-17 player in Canada after a sensational break out year.
The 17 year old, who was born to Liberian parents at the Budumbura Camp, has been phenomenal this year with Major League Soccer side Vancouver WhiteCaps.
His performances saw him earn a call up to the national team of Canada, where he was part of the team that represented the North Africans at the gold cup.
Alphonso Davies has been invited by English giants Manchester United to come trial with the club following his tremendous form.
On Friday, CTV Edmonton’s Adam Cook tweeted that Davies had been invited to train with the storied Manchester United Football Club in the English Premier League in January.

He’s won a number of awards, and is the youngest player ever to score a goal in the CONCACAF Champions League, Canadian Championship and United Soccer League.
He received his Canadian citizenship this summer, and was immediately called up to make his debut with Canada’s senior national team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup where he scored three goals in six appearances.
Davies scored three goals in six matches and won both the Golden Boot and Best Young Player awards at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
With Vancouver Whitecaps FC, he scored three goals and two assists in 33 matches across all competitions, including a goal in the quarter-finals of 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League.
He also became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Canadian Championship with a goal against Montréal in May.
