Hamburger SV defender Stephan Kofi Ambrosius has been named in the German Under 21 squad to face Hungary, Netherlands and Romania in this month’s Euro qualifiers.
The towering central defender has been in fine form for Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga 2 and has already caught the eyes of several teams in and around German.
Born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor was in the European country last October and held meetings with with him in an effort to get him to play for Ghana.
Still very much on Akonnor’s radar, Ambrosius has been handed a call up by Germany Under 21 boss Stefan Kuntz on Monday for their Euro qualifiers.
It is yet to be known if Ambrosius will accept the call up or be inline to feature for Ghana.
