Nations FC, fresh off their first win of the season, will host Hearts of Oak at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese this Sunday.
Both teams are eager to build on their recent victories after challenging starts to their Ghana Premier League campaigns.
Nations FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Aduana FC in Dormaa, a notoriously difficult venue, breaking a streak of two consecutive draws. Now sitting 5th in the league table, Nations will aim to maintain their solid home form, having remained unbeaten in their last 18 league matches.
However, they have struggled to convert draws into wins, managing only one victory in their last seven league fixtures. Their recent games have also been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals in their last four home matches.
On the other hand, Hearts of Oak, currently positioned 11th, enter the match buoyed by a 2-0 victory over Bechem United—marking their first win of the season after two consecutive defeats.
The pressure had been mounting on coach Aboubakar Ouattara, but the Phobians delivered a much-needed performance. Despite struggling to find the back of the net in previous matches, averaging just 0.67 goals per game this season, they were more clinical against Bechem.
This clash will mark the third-ever meeting between the two sides, with their first encounter ending in a 1-1 draw, while Hearts claimed a 2-0 victory in the most recent matchup.
With both sides eager to maintain their momentum, Sunday’s game promises to be an exciting contest, especially with live coverage on Globe TV.
Nations FC will look to extend their unbeaten home streak, while Hearts will aim to build on their improved performance in front of goal.
