Former Asante Kotoko gaffer, Frimpong Manso, has reiterated that the Ghana Premier League lack genuine strikers.
His comment comes months after communications director for Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo, emphatically stated that there is no potent striker in the Ghana Premier League.
Opare’s comment was in reaction to criticism by Hearts of Oak fans that the Phobians had failed to purchase potent strikers to augment attacking machinery of the club ahead of the 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, the former Kotoko defender bemoaned the struggle to point out any potent striker presently in the country.
“The country lack strikers at the moment. The problem is across board both in the premier league and our national teams.”
“It is a worrying situation for the entire nation.”
“Ghana’s leading striker Asamoah Gyan is growing but finding replacement for him has been a problem.’’
He continued ,”A lot of the players we have in the Ghana Premier league have the talent but they lack maturity.”
