Head of the Medical Committee of the Ghana Football Association, Dr. Adam Baba, says football can preferably commence in Ghana in November and not next month.
The government placed an embargo on all football-related activities in March 2020 following the outbreak of the coronavirus in Ghana. This decision led to the cancellation of the 2019/2020 football season and as such, all records associated with it were expunged.
But speaking during his COVID-19 update number 17 on Sunday, September 20, President Nana Addo announced that the resumption of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and the Division One League will star on Friday 30th October 2020.
”With respect to football, after due consultations with the Ghana Football Association, it has been decided that the Ghana Premier League and the Division One Football League will restart on Friday, 30th October, with a full regime of testing of the players, technical and management staff,” the President said.
However, Dr. Adam Baba says it’s impossible for football to return in October as stated by the President.
