Bibiani Gold Stars climbed back to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the Ampain Sports Arena on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Michael Nkoah proved to be the match-winner, delivering a stunning goal in the 69th minute to separate the two sides in their rescheduled matchday 20 fixture.
Earlier in the game, Nkoah had found the back of the net but saw his effort ruled out for offside. However, his second-half strike stood, ensuring all three points for the visitors.
The Miners now hold a slim advantage at the top of the league table, leading second-placed Asante Kotoko by just one point.
Gold Stars will now shift focus to their upcoming home clash against Hearts of Oak, while Basake Holy Stars prepare for a tough trip to face Asante Kotoko.
