The Ghana Football Association has officially released the full schedule for the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, sparking excitement among fans as clubs prepare for another thrilling campaign.
Defending champions Gold Stars FC will begin their title defense at home against Bechem United at Duns Park in Bibiani. Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak will open their season in Accra, welcoming newly promoted Hohoe United, as Asante Kotoko hit the road to face Berekum Chelsea in Berekum.
Other opening day fixtures include:
- Medeama SC traveling to face Young Apostles
- FC Samartex visiting Vision FC
- Premier League returnees Swedru All Blacks FC and Eleven Wonders FC will face Nations FC and Basake Holy Stars respectively, both away.
Heart of Lions, who finished second last season, will take on Dreams FC at home, while Karela United clash with Aduana FC.
The much-anticipated first clash between rivals Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is scheduled for Match Day 5 in Accra, with the return leg on Match Day 22 in Kumasi. Another notable fixture is the Ashanti Derby between Nations FC and Kotoko, taking place on Match Day 9, with the second leg on Match Day 26.
A historic Volta derby will return as Hohoe United hosts Heart of Lions on Match Day 17, with the reverse tie set for the final round, Match Day 34, in Kpando.
Fans can also look forward to several Brong Ahafo derbies, with Young Apostles facing Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, and Aduana FC on Match Days 5, 7, and 16 respectively.
Elsewhere:
- Medeama SC will meet Samartex on Match Day 6, with the reverse tie on Match Day 23.
- Basake Holy Stars face Medeama on Match Day 15, while their Western Derby against Samartex is set for Match Days 14 and 31.
The new season will begin over the weekend of September 12, 2025, and conclude on May 23/24, 2026, ensuring it wraps up before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in June.
As per the GFA’s alignment with the global football calendar, Premier League matches will primarily take place on weekends, with midweek games reserved for outstanding fixtures.
