Ghanaian striker, George Nana Kwame Ofosu was on target for Varzim SC in the Secunda Liga in Portugal on Friday evening.
The Ghana attacker scored his second goal of the season in six matches for Varzim in their 1-3 lost away at Leixoes SC.
Ofosu broke the deadlock of the match to put the visitors in front inside the 52nd minutes mark after a goalless first half to make it 1-0 to Varzim.
Three mminutes later, the host struck back through Rui Pedro to restore parity for the home team who upped their game after going behind to Ofosu’s goal.
Joao Silva later netted brace to propel Leixoes to a comfortable 3-1 home win with his first goal coming in the 66th minutes before grabbing his second from 12 yards out following a spot kick to inspire his team to a comeback win over their Ghanaian’s team.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian attacker’s team, Varzim are without a win in five games, losing their last three games and last won a game in the second tier of Portuguese league on September 13 at home to FC Porto B with a 1-0 score line.
Ofosu has two goals in six games for Varzim this campaign after joining them as a free agent.
