Accra Great Olympics are on the lookout for back-to-back wins over rivals Accra Hearts of Oak for the very first time in a long while.
Following their promotion into the Ghana Premier League, the Dade boys have been one of the impressive teams to watch after 27 games played.
Nine losses in the 27 games played means that Coach Annor Walker and his side occupy the third position on the league log, five behind Hearts of Oak.
The Phobians’ 14 league wins is the highest the top-flight has seen so far this camping. The boys in the rainbow colours also have a clear advantage of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who are the closest team to them.
In the reverse fixture back in January, Gladson Awako and Maxwell Quaye were on the scoresheet for Olympics as they walked away with all three points against a much troubled Hearts team.
However, after the appointment of Samuel Boadu, Hearts have been a hard knot to crack and are operating at their full strength.
They are currently on a six-game winning run across all competitions, keeping six clean sheets during that time while also scoring 11 times.
Olympics has proven to be a rough side anytime they have faced any of the top half teams but with the bragging rights up for grabs, they are expected to be at full force.
With regards to missing players, both teams have players on national assignments, with Olympics’ Samuel Ashie Quaye and Hearts’ Richmond Ayi are away with the Black Meteors in Japan.
The mandate will be on Rustum Gameli Senorgbe to handle the game as the main referee on Sunday while Alhassan Abdulai and Sulemana Samudeen are his deputies.
