Legon Cities attacker Asamoah Gyan has taken a swipe as section of the Asante Kotoko fans and supporters after receiving boos and whistles from them during Cities home defeat to the Porcupine Warriors on Saturday.
The Ghana legend did not only address the Kotoko fans but also took an indirect swipe at the current Kotoko players suggesting that they are nobodies outside Ghana.
“I am advising them that the same way they booed me, when they go abroad or travel outside they should mention the name of their players. They should not mention my name because I am not part of the Kotoko team. I play for Legon Cities.” a livid Gyan warned in a video shared on social media.
“What they did show that they are hypocrites. You cannot boast with my name when you travel outside Ghana and then come to the stadium to boo me. So when they travel abroad they should use the name of their Kotoko players to boast. They should not mention my name again” he said.
“I am talking about the Kotoko fans in Accra. I am not referring to the whole Kotoko fans but those in Accra only” he explained.

Gyan is a known Kotoko supporter and his Paradise Pac mineral water recently were sponsors of the club.
