The FC Nordsjaelland star, made his Black Stars debut in Ghana’s stalemate against Madagascar on June 18, 2023, in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 20-year-old attacker replaced Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana in the 60th minute for his debut in the game that ended goalless at the Mahamasina Municipal Stadium.
Nuamah earned a place in the Ghana squad for this game after an impeccable campaign in the 2022-23 season in Denmark.
The youngster won the Spring Profile (voted by the Superliga head coaches), Profile of the Year: (voted by the Superliga players) and Young Player of the Year (chosen by the Divisional Association’s expert panel).
Nuamah finished the season with 16 goals and 4 assists across all competitions, which helped Nordsjaelland finish second in the league.
The promising attacker took to social media to celebrate his senior National team international debut.
“From dreams to reality beyond blessed to make my debut for Ghana. Stepping onto the pitch as a Black Star for the first time & wearing the Ghanaian colors with pride is more than just a dream & a game. It’s a calling, a heritage, a passion. Embracing every step of this dream through the ups & downs. Grateful for this opportunity & thankful for this journey. Ready to give my all for Ghana.”
Meanwhile, Ghana will need a victory against Central African Republic in September at home to cement their place for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cote d’Ivoire.
