Asante Kotoko’s newest signing, Francis Acquah, has likened his playing style to that of Paris Saint-Germain and Portugal full-back Nuno Mendes, following his official move to the club.
The 24-year-old left-back completed a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors on Tuesday after an impressive four-year spell at Bechem United. Acquah made 94 league appearances during his time with the Hunters, where he developed a reputation as one of the most consistent defenders in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Acquah confidently outlined the qualities he brings to Kotoko’s backline.
“My style of play is like PSG defender Nuno Mendes. I’m more offensive but also defend very well,” he said.
Known for his composure, intelligent positioning, and ability to operate across multiple defensive roles, Acquah is expected to add both versatility and depth to Kotoko’s squad. His accurate passing and game-reading ability make him a strong addition as the team prepares for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season and their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
