Ghana international Forson Amankwah has declared his ambition to help Norwich City secure promotion to the English Premier League in the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Canaries last summer from Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg but endured a challenging debut campaign as the club finished 13th in the Championship with 57 points, missing out on a playoff spot.
Speaking to Flashscore, Amankwah stressed that promotion remains the club’s top priority — a goal he fully shares.
“The club wants to get promoted, so as a player, you also need that because the Premier League is the best league,” he said. “Everybody’s watching the Premier League, so I’m prepared for that challenge, and I hope we can make it happen. We will do everything and try our best to just get promoted.”
Norwich opened their 2025/26 Championship season with a 2-1 defeat to Millwall at Carrow Road. Amankwah will be eager to help the team bounce back quickly when they face Watford in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, before travelling to Portsmouth for their next league fixture.
