Ghanaian forward Maxwell Baakoh has marked a significant milestone in his career, completing a noteworthy transfer to Algerian club MC Oran from USM Khenchela. This move has set a new domestic transfer record fee, reaching an impressive 300,000 euros.
Having previously played for Asante Kotoko SC, Baakoh’s journey to MC Oran is the result of his outstanding performance in the Algerian Ligue 1. The 28-year-old showcased his prowess during the 2022/2023 season with USM Khenchela, contributing four goals in just 11 appearances.
As part of the deal with MC Oran, Baakoh is set to become one of the highest-paid players in Algeria, with a monthly salary amounting to 20,000 euros. His versatility as a second striker, central attacking midfielder, and winger is expected to play a pivotal role for MC Oran as they strive to escape the relegation zone in the latter half of the league.
