Former Asante Kotoko SC striker Franck Mbella Etouga has officially joined Algerian club USM Khenchela, embarking on a new chapter in his career.
The Cameroonian forward, known for his prolific stint with Asante Kotoko where he netted 21 goals to help the team clinch the 2021‑22 Ghana Premier League title, earned accolades as the league’s Most Outstanding Player . His exceptional performances earned praise from coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, who described him as the best player he had ever coached at the club .
Following his breakout year in Ghana, Etouga moved to Egyptian side Al Masry in September 2022 on a multi-year deal valued at approximately $400,000 (€400,000), scoring modestly in his early appearances . He later had loan spells with El Gouna FC and CSF Spartanii Sportul in Moldova during the 2024–2025 season .
USM Khenchela, competing in the Algerian Ligue 1, is in the process of establishing a stronger presence in Algerian football.
