Former Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Goldstars tactician Michael Osei has entreated Black Stars manager , Otto Addo to build a formidable team for the future.
Addo, a former Ghana international is back for a second spell with the Black Stars, replacing Chris Hughton, who was shown the exit door following the teams’ calamitous performance at AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Micheal Osei advised Otto Addo to focus on building a formidable team for the country rather than trophies.
“We don’t have to aim for trophies at the moment. We need to build a formidable team under Otto Addo. Luckily, we have a lot of young players like Kudus Mohammed, Joseph Paintsil, Kamaldeen, Ashimeru and others. So I think we can build the team around these young players for the future” he said.
The former Bibiani Goldstars coach was one of the local coaches that applied for the Black Stars job but missed out to become the new trainer for national team.
The Black Stars will play Nigeria and Uganda in an international friendly games. Ghana will lock horns with Nigeria on Friday, March 22 before taking on the Cranes on March 26, 2024.
