Former head coach for the Egyptian national team, Bob Bradley, says losing 6-1 to Ghana in 2013 made him ‘very sad’.
The US tactician was in charge of the Pharaohs from 2011 to 2013 and guided team in the qualifiers to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
In 2013, he led the Pharaohs to the final stage of the qualifiers but unfortunately suffered a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Black Stars when they visited Ghana for the first leg of the clash.

Reminiscing on that match, Coach Bob Bradley has opened up on how it affected him.
“I was really sad after the Kumasi game, everyone was very committed to send Egypt to the World Cup but there was too much pressure and the responsibility was huge”, the gaffer said while speaking to Sada El-Balad TV channel.
He continued, “The Brazilian players weren’t their usual selves on that day, which reminded me of what happened in Kumasi.
“Hossam Ashour got injured at the start of the game, we then got a penalty which the Ghana player should’ve gotten sent off for. Then Sherif Ekramy got injured and replaced by Ahmed El-Shennawy, but despite these obstacles the players did the best they could”.
Ghana’s scorers on that day included Asamoah Gyan [a brace], a goal each from Mubarak Wakaso, Sulley Muntari, Christian Atsu, and an own goal from Walid Gomaa.
Egyptian legend Mohamed Aboutriaka netted the consolation for the Egyptians on that day.
Though Bradley guided Egypt to win the return leg by 2 goals to 1, it was not enough as the North African side missed out on playing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
