Ghanaian forward, John Antwi has been named in the 23-man squad for Ghana’s friendly against Mali in October.
After three years absence which can not be attributed to lost of form, the predator finisher has walked his way back into the national team.
Black Stars coach CK Akonnor on Friday named his squad for the next month’s show with Mali with the striker inevitably being handed a chance to shine.
The 28-year-old Ghanaian striker has eight goals in 26 games for Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League this campaign and as well lead the lines for the stars in the upcoming games.
Antwi, a former player of Sekondi XI Wise has been Ghana’s best player in 2020 after reaching 100 goals to become the first foreign player to achieve the feet.
After reaching the milestone, it is deemed proper and a step in the right direction for the fox-in-the-box finisher to be rewarded with a merited call-up by the Ghana coach.
Since his debut in 2015 for Ismaily, Antwi had gone on to score 75 league goals and 100 in all competitions in Egypt.
Undoubtedly, Antwi is currently the best striker in Ghana and has been the talk of town as many believe he’s been treated unfairly in recent call-ups.
The Pyramids FC hitman is expected to hit the ground running by transferring his club form to cement his place in the team.
Antwi could lead the lines against Mali to prove his worth to the many Ghanaians who yelled for his inclusion into the Black Stars team.
