The aftermath of the directive of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to arrest the president of the Ghana football association, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi for defrauding under false pretence, the football people have refused to speak on the issue.
The DAILY HERITAGE in Accra on Wednesday called some officials of the Ghana Football Association, the Ghana League Clubs Association and chairmen’s of the some local club both in the Premiership and the Division One football club are given one excuse or the other.
The technical director of the GFA, Mr Francis Oti-Akenten when called categorically said he would not speak on the issue as he does not want to involve himself through comments.
According to him, he prefers to stay away with Anas’ upcoming expose????? tape to be premiered on June 6, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Division One club bankroller and president of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grunsah, who is an ardent critic of Mr Nyantakyi, said he was driving and so he could not talk on the matter.
The president of GHALCA and former chief executive officer of Ashantigold, Mr Cudjoe Fianoo, who had earlier said he was not sure of himself being not on the tape because he did not know the scope of the investigations and that he was scared, could not be reached for comments.
A text message was sent to him and he was yet to respond to it at the time of filing the story.
President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday directed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the police service to arrest Mr Nyantakyi for allegedly using his name to defraud by false pretences.
Nyantakyi is reportedly caught on tape trying to solicit funds using the name of the President and the Vice President of the country.
