Former Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kweku Eyiah, has ruled himself out of contention for the position of GFA President.
The nation’s football governing body presidency has become vacant since Kwesi Nyantakyi’s resignation six [6] months ago following allegations of corruption levelled against him.
In the aftermath of the Anas Number 12 exposé, FIFA and CAF appointed a four-member Normalization Committee to sanitize the nation’s football for six months before a new Ghana FA president can be elected through congress.
Reports in the Ghanaian media for the past few months suggest Mr. Eyiah could be in contention for the 2019 Presidency when the Normalisation Committee opens nominations for the vacant position.
But commenting on a feature article published by 442gh.com, dubbed ”FEATURE: Towards the GFA presidential elections- assessing the men for the seat”, the legal practitioner has refuted the assertion, stating categorically that he’s not a candidate for the FA’s top position.

Commenting further on the post, the former Black Starlets management committee chairman stated ‘’for your information I am not a candidate for the GFA presidency, I don’t crave for it and do not want it. For vice president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, owner of Division one league side Okyeman Planners, Tema Youth President Osei Parmer, Fred Pappoe, Dreams FC Chief Kurt Okraku and Nana Yaw Amponsah, a FIFA licensed Agent have all been linked to contest for top seat.
