Ghanaian midfielder Elisha Owusu is on the transfer wish list of French Ligue 1 side FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively confirm.
The Ghanaian born in France is a top priority for Bordeaux’s new coach Vladimir Petkovic, who was with the Swiss national team during the Euros has made the midfielder his top target for this summer.
Sportsworldghana.com can reveal that the French Ligue 1 team, has officially enquired about the availability of the player and are encouraged by the response they received from the player’s team.
Last summer, Owusu came close to joining Spanish giant Atletico Madrid but the deal fell through after his team, K. A. A Gent turned off the Red and Whites outfit’s offer.

Atletico Madrid offered €15m for the services of the 23-year-old Ghanaian but his club opted to keep him at the club for another season in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League due to his importance to the Blue and Whites.
Later on in the 2020-21 season, the Ghanaian started losing a grip on his automatic spot in the team as he started some crucial games from the bench.
After attending to his girlfriend during childbirth, the young lad missed his team’s training camp in Norway and has had just seven minutes under his belt this season for Gent.
Bordeaux are highly optimistic of securing a deal for the Ghanaian this transfer window as the French Ligue 1 starts next weekend to bolster their squad in their quest to qualify for European football next season.
Bordeaux could land the services of Owusu if they meet the asking price of €5.5m by the Belgium Pro League side.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder’s contract with K. A. A Gent expires in 2023.
