Abdul Fatawu Safiu has completed his return to Asante Kotoko ahead of the start of the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
Safiu successfully underwent a medical examination on Friday, January 12, 2024 at precisely 9:20 am, paving the way for his return to Kotoko.
The completion of the medical formalities comes after both parties inked a two-year deal, solidifying Safiu’s connection with the Porcupines.
Eager to reunite with his family, Safiu is en route to Techiman before making his way back to Kumasi over the weekend to begin training with the Porcupines.
The 29-year-old has been unattached after parting ways with Iraqi side Al-Sinaa SC in June 2023.
During his earlier stint with Kotoko, Safiu showcased his goal-scoring prowess, contributing three goals and two assists in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
His remarkable 10-goal tally played a crucial role in securing Kotoko’s victory in the Special Competition Tier 1.
