Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC striker, Kwame Opoku scored his first goal of the season for USM Alger in the Algeria Ligue 1 on Sunday evening.
The Ghanaian international forward grabbed his side’s third goal of their 4-2 win away at RC Relizane to move seventh on the league table after week 26.
Ismael Belkacemi opened the scoring in the first half after just 10 minutes of play to put the away team in the lead but the hosts struck back through Chardli Amri after 34 minutes played.
On the stroke of half time, Abdelkarim Zouari restored the Red and Blacks one goal advantage from the spot before the interval.
After the break, the away team were awarded another spot kick and the former Kotoko striker, Opoku stepped up to convert the kick to put the visitors in a 3-1 lead.
Sabri Gharbi made it 2-3 to the home team but an own goal from Younes Koulkheir gave Opoku’s team a 4-2 win on the road.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian attacker has two goals to his credit in USM Alger colours scoring a goal each in the Algerian Cup and Ligue 1 respectively.
