Former Asante Kotoko forward Charles Taylor has backed the Ghanaian giants’ decision to play in next season’s CAF Champions League but, however, wants them the strengthen the playing body.
The Porcupine Warriors’ decision to participate in the African interclub competition has been the subject of scrutiny by the public following the suspension of football activities in Ghana as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
A lot of issues have been raised about the club’s preparation and their financial capabilities to participate in the competition Taylor who was the club’s darling boy during his playing days has urged the Reds to represent the country in the tournament with quality players.
“Kotoko needs to beef up squad if they want to go far in the CAF champions league especially the full-backs. They should sign a sharp left back to create competition for Moro Ibrahim,” the former striker said in an interview with Light FM.
“Kotoko doesn’t have a problem at the goalkeeping department because they have equally good goalkeepers. But they need new faces to strengthen the midfielder and it would be good if they can sign Justice Bay, Latif Anabila and Appiah MaCharthy,” he added.
