Al Ahly have offered Pitso Mosimane an improved contract worth close to R2.5-million (about 164 000 USD) a month, according to Ahmed Shobier.
Mosimane and the club have been locked in negotiations for several weeks about extending his original two-year deal at the Club of the Century.
After winning back-to-back CAF Champions Leagues and a bronze medal at last year’s FIFA Club World Cup, both parties mutually agreed to engage in contract talks.
However, after his agent Moira Mosimane failed to agree on terms before the ongoing 2021 Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates – they shelved discussions for a later date.
According to club legend-turned pundit Shobier, though, the ball is in Mosimane’s court to decide on the latest offer he’s received by the club.
“Al Ahly made Mosimane a good deal, I believe that it’s now up to him. He previously said that he wants to keep the position,” Shobeir said on On-Time Sports (h/t) KingFut.
“I think it’s true that Mosimane wants to stay in Al Ahly, but the negotiations are still ongoing between the club and his agent. Al Ahly’s offer is between $160,000 and $165,000 (R2.5 million, with a three-month termination clause.”
Mosimane’s Ahly face Asian Champions Al Hilal on Saturday for a chance to secure another bronze medal at the Club World Cup for the African giants.
