Jordan Ayew was handed a start by Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira as they lost 3-0 at Chelsea.
The Black Stars number Nine was deployed as a right winger in the 4-4-2 formation of Vieira.
The former Nice coach is a defensive minded trainer and requires even his forward players to contribute a lot to the team during the defensive phase of the game and considering the Jordan role at the Stamford Bridge, the Ghana attacker will have to increase his work rate.
Of course the goals are the first requirements from any striker but for Jordan Ayew who struggled to get the goals last season, his defensive contributions will be key in determining how many games he will see this season.
